CIRCUS ELEPHANTS DINE AT CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK

Lunch at Centennial Olympic Park is always special - but Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 promises to be extra special - as approximately eight Asian elephants will parade across Marietta Street, through the Park to Andrew Young International Boulevard for their annual lunch. The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus elephants' menu includes bread, watermelon, bananas, apples and carrots. The elephants will be accompanied by juggling clowns riding along for the fun. Their trek will begin around 11:30 a.m., followed by their feast adjacent to the Fountain of Rings.

Andrew Young International Boulevard will be temporarily closed from Philips Arena to the Park for the event. It will remain closed until the elephants have completed the picnic and are returned to the arena.

The FountainSide Café at the Park Visitor Center serves food for those of us who don't eat with a trunk - so dine with the elephants at the Park. See you there!

Spring is coming, and the Elephant Brunch is just one of the many exciting events coming to Centennial Olympic Park. Check the Park's Web site - www.centennialpark.com - for a complete list of upcoming fun. Or, call 404.222.PARK (7275) for additional information.

A lasting legacy of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Centennial Olympic Park has become a performing-arts venue, community gathering-space and an anchor for downtown development. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority operates the 21-acre Park, as well as the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center. The three state-owned facilities are one of the largest combined sports, entertainment and convention center facilities in the world.
