A lasting legacy of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.
Olympic Legacy
A Park Born from the Olympic Dream
Centennial Olympic Park was created as a gathering place for the world during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and as a lasting legacy for Atlanta and the state of Georgia. What was once a collection of parking lots and underused spaces was transformed into a vibrant park designed to bring people together.
During the Games, the Park became the heart of the Olympic experience, welcoming millions for celebrations, concerts, and shared moments. Today, it continues to serve as a central gathering place for the city, hosting events, welcoming visitors, and connecting community in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
